Brighton Board Member Alicia Reid Proposes Policy Denying Board From Buildings, Doesn't Show Up!

By Livingston Lantern Staff

During an intense conversation reviewing Thrun Board Policies, the Policy Committee, (comprised of Board Members Reid, Storm and Marks) propose changes in policy 3105, which links to 2302 as well as other policies. The policies appear like an endless chain link of one policy referring to another and so forth.

The Policies up for change would have Board members, who are elected officials, receiving office staff approval before entering any district buildings, far different than what access has been for many years. Trombley specifically took issue with this as he felt this was a direct attack against he and Conely assisting Robotics, sports and other clubs by accessing the buildings. Both Trombley and Conely routinely have been known to repair, clean bathrooms, fix up and advocate for building improvements as many of us have witnessed their testimonials over the course of the years at School board meetings.

Where the conversation took a turn was when Andy Storm asked Dr. Outlaw where the original text of Policy changes disappeared to from policy committee. Outlaw retorted that was the original change, while Storm asked Outlaw upon entering the Policy committee meeting the changes were already highlighted when he arrived and he had no say in them. Trombley mentioned he felt Administration was the party pushing for access to be stifled resulting in this policy change. At this point, Storm piped in and called Dr. Outlaw to the carpet asking who wrote the changes, Outlaw tried to squeeze out of answering but Storm pressed on, Outlaw then admitted the changes were written independently by Alicia Reid who was absent.

Upon the reveal that Reid wrote the changes which would change Board members access, the room had a lot of reaction including shock by everyone except Marks and Krebs.

Conely moved to hold the policies over and review them, which passed.

Alicia Reid with fascist leaning ideologies, proposed a masking mandate more than 3 times, pushed to keep the middle school closed for weeks with only 2 covid cases, has missed more than 8 board meetings since 2021: Aug 8 2022, Jan 10 2022, Dec 13 2021, Nov 22 2021, Sep 27 2021, Sep 13 2021, June 28 2021, May 10 2021; giving Board Trustee Reid a 33% attendance percentage. Interesting, since any student with 33% attendance would probably be expelled.

There is a puppetmaster at play here. It's time for change.
