The Livingston Lantern Staff
We have reported that a tenured Secretary who is the wife of a school board member is on administrative leave for violations of sharing insider information ***allegedly ***with her own husband. This is where we insert the eye roll so hard it hurts. Glenn Gogoleski, newly elected Hartland school board member, (WHO RECEIVED THE MOST ELECTION DAY VOTES) is being scolded in a recent email to parents from Chuck Hughes, Superintendent.
Chuck ***Claims that he received much backlash after Mr. Gogoleski joined a podcast over a week ago. Gogoleski alledges in the recording, he has intentions of visiting schools unannounced as a Board Member. Excellent idea Glenn, unannounced is best!
Questions we cannot seem to understand :
#1- Chuck Hughes says Gogoleski's wife has possibly shared with her own husband, who sits on the School Board - secrets about children in schools violating FERPA. Hughes says she was placed on leave pending an investigation because of 'community members in large numbers reached out to him' that their children's information is being shared wrongfully.
Hmmm. Mrs. Gogoleski is being targeted for being married to her husband who is on the board and privy to this same information?
Chuck are you kidding us?
For the record, FOIA's obtained by The Livingston Lantern are of public record, ANYONE could have the same information we have.
Our first inquiry is:
If this information is SO SECRETIVE how do large members of the community even know about it?
We hypothesize these 4 community members are the same 4 PTO members who LOST THEIR SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS, HAVE BEEN PRIVY TO SECRET INFORMATION FROM GOOD OLD CHUCK HIMSELF, because they are the only ones he let's inside the buildings.
#2 - PARENTS and newly elected School Board Members are pushing safety concerns in Hartland and their documented reasons for these concerns have not only EXPOSED Hughes as dismissive of serious safety protocols. They have brought police reports for **receipts** showing mind blowing dereliction of duties on behalf of the Superintendent.
What a better way to pass off the bad press than to point the finger at a tenured employee you don't like!
Is it just us over here at the Lantern or does this narrative feel like Charles is worried about this situation?
He should be worried, he hasn't done his job and he collects the fatest paycheck in Hartland Community Schools.
It's time for new leadership.
