Disrespected, Ignored Parents Fuel 40 Candidates Running for Board of Education in Livingston County

40 Parent Backed, Conservative Republican Candidates are running for Board of Education positions in Livingston County Michigan.

Please, don't even say it - school boards are non partisan! The Michigan Education Association gave the democrat party over $5 million dollars, it's clear where their priorities lie.

40 is a record breaking number of candidates in a school board race.

How did we get here ?

We scan parents groups and the complaints are all the same:

Board members ignored us, they acted as if they owed us no explanation, they shut us out, administration won't communicate with parents, school board members are being guided by liberal democrat ran teachers unions.

Bob, a parent in Brighton, tells us he had emailed the Superintendent and Board of Education over 15 times during covid. He regularly receives responses from 2 school board members and his district Superintendent each time. The other 5 school board members never replied, Bob said " this is unacceptable and the situations and concerns required a reply from them." He went on to say the feeling he gets is that they are above speaking to parents.

The same reports come from multiple parents out of Howell and Pinckney. Julie tells us " it gives the appearance these people are above us and they owe us zero explanation or even effort, that is unacceptable to me as a parent."

We have spent a lot of time sharing stories about embattled district Hartland, well, here is the most aggregious one yet.

Our staff comprises of 7 parents in the Hartland Consolidated Schools, we have first hand experience and knowledge of what is happening there on a day to day basis. Despite push back, it is all the truth, which is why we started this website.

We spoke to 4 sets of parents this week, 4 of those 8 parents tell us their children were impacted by the sexually explicit book from the 10th grade English Teacher. They called and emailed the Teacher, Principal and Superintendent, along with, the entire school board.

The response they received :

Nothing. Zero replies. Zero acknowledgment. Zero.

To clarify, these parents emailed all school board members, the principal and the Superintendent and not one person responded to the email asking what the school is doing about the parents who filed complaints with the Livingston County Sheriff for their child being exposed to sexually explicit material.

Parents deserve acknowledgement, involvement and the respect of a reply when laws have been broken. The silence coming out of Hartland is deafening. Our hope is that is because an active investigation is ongoing, it would seem that would be an appropriate response.
