We were sent this by a parent blind copied on an email sent to the Brighton School District today:

Good morning,

I am writing to enlighten you about concerns I have been hearing about fully digitizing student records and registration.  If you are unaware of what happened to Jackson and Hillsdale ISD this past winter, I encourage you to look into it.

Even the WEF is warning that this is coming.

I am not comfortable and have not been in the past year with digitally uploading my childs (or my own) private/personal identifying information. Leaving many parents who feel like I do very disgruntled. Why is there no alternative option available for families that wish the keep their private records private? Partnership with 3rd party platforms opens our children and private information up to weaponization and possible shut down of our district.

Can we please discuss alternative options available for families that do not wish to register their children for school via 3rd party platforms?

Best regards,

Kelli Uphaus

***How do you you feel about 100% digitizing your childs records. Do you feel comfortable knowing a school district less than 100 miles away was able to be shut down for a week and had their private information held at ransom?
