The people of Marion, Cohoctah and Conway townships have spoken!

OP Ed By: Publius

On January 26th the Marion Township board met to discuss the moratorium on the solar farm plan the township board intends to approve for boku bucks. The show of community members was so immense they had to move the standing members of the community to the basement to watch the meeting remotely due to "fire code".

It is as simple as this: THE PEOPLE OF MARION, COHOCTAH AND CONWAY TOWNSHIPS DO NOT WANT SOLAR PANEL FARMS IN THEIR COMMUNITY!!

While the board planned to kick the can down the road to run out the timeline for approval and usurp the power of the people in these townships, one thing is certain, the people who live in these communities and PAY TAXES in these communities DO NOT WANT THEIR RIGHTS TRAMPLED ON! The board was in violation (or potential violation) of the open meetings act with the conduct of the meeting they planned to adjourn to a "later date". No one was made aware outside of social media platforms that this meeting was taking place. Due to the due diligence of community members a show of force was present that night.

As we've seen across Livingston county for the last few years, money and hidden agendas seem to be how our elected policy pushers like to run things. They don't like us speaking up. They don't like us saying NO to fat wallets stomping on our rights. They don't like being held accountable to do the job they were elected to. It is my belief, they don't even read the policy mess they put us in before they vote on the policy, because they are so blinded by $$$ signs.

Simply put; THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT FUND THEIR ENDEAVORS! It's just a big fat "SHOW ME THE MONEY" When it comes to making decisions for our communities.

Note to all Livingston County Board members:

Do better or WE WILL REPLACE YOU! If you don't like us showing up and yelling, if you don't like the onslaught of emails, if you don't like the push back then DO THE JOB WE ELECTED YOU TO DO!! And do it with TRANSPARENCY! LISTEN TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS!! Otherwise we are left to assume the decisions you make with our money are being made with nefarious intentions.

Enough secrets, enough lies, ENOUGH with the idiocracy! The people of Livingston County have had enough!

Here is the link to the meeting. It's well worth the 45 minute watch but gets particularly interesting at the 33 minute mark.

A huge thanks to Frederick Bond of Bond Video in Marion Township, Michigan for capturing and sharing this video. He's given permission for this to be shared as needed to help the general public get a better understanding of what is happening in Marion Township regarding Utility-Scale Solar Development.

Next meeting date is scheduled for February9th at Parker Middle School! Keep watch! May God bless Livingston County residents. At this point we need Him more than ever!
