Why are School Board Candidates Silent? We Explain

By: The Livingston Lantern

  • Censorship.

  • Slanted one sided news media.

  • Politically driven hit pieces on anyone who doesn't agree with the liberal agenda.

  • Doxxing.

  • Complaints to licensing agencies.

  • Businesses attacked by cancel culture.

  • Jobs attacked.

  • Children attacked.

  • Property damage.

  • False complaints to the County and townships.

Why are school board candidates ignoring or refusing to answer questionnaires from hard left leaning groups, news and media outlets ?

See above list.

The past nearly 3 years, parents have bonded and forged within various grassroots on both sides of the political aisle. The pairing of like minded ideals has created the line of division whereby one side is in direct opposition to the other, fiercely. Naturally this is what was forced onto us by the polarizing masking of children.

Those groups and alliances have resulted in Livingston alone hoisting 40 plus candidates for school board elections. Record numbers in more than 10 years.

So why the refusal of some candidates to participate in the town halls, online forums or write in surveys?

Amongst hundreds of parents fighting school boards that ignored, demeanded, tried to silence parents push back on illegally quarantining their children, trying to have them arrested, called them into the FBI, in some cases Superintendents and school board members even called parents jobs to intimidate them. In other cases, school boards were so biased they even created safe spaces for masking parents, literally segregating them. Children were stood up in classrooms and tagged as ' unvaccinated so your quarantine will be longer ' , children whose parents were vocal at board meetings were mistreated by teachers and administrators, they were slighted on scores or in disciplinary issues. One parent said she spoke up at a school board meeting and the next day her kid was placed on a 10 day quarantine for exposure but no other kids in the classroom were.

Diving deeper, the cancel culture has hurt small businesses locally. If you were found to support not masking kids you received a rash of attacks by means of false Google reviews or Yelp complaints. Parents on the left side of the aisle called and emailed complaints to one parent's job alleging a multitude of lies so many times, the parent lost their job, leaving the family with multiple children without insurance for months. Another family reports a similar situation whereby the mom spoke out and the fathers job was attacked, he was also fired. 4 nurses from Livingston County received complaints to the Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs attacking their nursing licenses for ' misinformation '. Jobs again on the line. Families suffering.

One Dad told us he received a complaint from Genoa Township for storing a camper illegally on his property. He has lived in his home for over 12 years and never parked it any other way. He FOIA requested the complaint from the Township and the person who called in the complaint was another parent who has been vocal on the opposite side of politics. The complainant lives in an entirely different township altogether, 14 miles away. The parents told us they truly felt violated.

The nurses who had their licenses attacked with the regulatory commission paid thousands in legal fees for representing them.

A Mom who primarily has an online business told us she had to shut down her website completely due to doxxing and false complaints and reviews. Another family was attacked on social media for selling an item during covid from a Facebook group. Two very popular and successful local photographers also had to shudder or remove public access to their businesses due to attacks. Businesses suffered.

One Dad tells us he got a call one day on his family businesses land line asking for the owner. He naturally stated that it was him, the caller said a lady named ' Julie ' who indicated she worked there on Facebook was not masking her children while shopping in Meijer. The Dad was stunned, he said this was actually his wife and he told the caller thanks and hung up. 12 more calls calling for the firing of Julie for violating the Governors mandates.

Imagine waking up to drive your kids to school and finding a Kroger bag of dog poop on your car after you spoke at a school board meeting the night before.

Finally, imagine a local blogger so focused on their own agendas they used their part time job to write lies about anyone who they didn't agree with. Imagine this blogger taking pictures of you and your friends in the community while you are meeting with lawyers on personal business and having lunch afterwards. Imagine being those mom's having to see this online in local publications simply while you go about living your life, being stalked, attacked for not agreeing with this blogger's agenda. Terrifying.

Today, every person who has ever been banned on Twitter celebrates the reversal of their account being banned, so too should we celebrate the beginning of a wave of free speech. This however, does not come without losses or costs.

Returning to where we started, now do you understand why these people refuse to participate in a one-sided conversation amidst a society where if you disagree you are cut off at the knees and sentenced to ridicule and shame?

As those of us who suffered the majority of these losses band closer together to support our like minded ideas, we refuse to put ourselves and our families in a position for more attacks.

One thing is for sure, we won't be stopped and we won't be silenced by this mob of hate and vitriol. Don't like us? Fine. Go support the haters, the bloggers, the life ruiners, best wishes on November 8th.

Red wave incoming

God bless us all.
